Pakistan military’s exercise sends signals to enemies that our defence is impregnable: Nawa-e-Waqt
The Pakistan military has demonstrated its preparation to counter India’s “cold start doctrine” through its recently concluded military exercise Azm-e-Nau Som (New Commitment-III), notes an editorial in the Nawa-e-Waqt Urdu Daily. The editorial opines that “it not only reflects our military’s professional capabilities but also sends signals to our enemies that our defence system is impregnable. The exercise has instilled a new zeal for the country’s defence among our forces and Pakistani people as a whole.”
However, the Daily is also of the view that Pakistan’s sovereignty is being challenged by US drone attacks. The drone attacks, says the Daily, not only kill innocent people but create suicide bombers from the affected families. Appreciating the Pakistan army’s demonstration of destroying a drone mid-air, the editorial reminds that “this capability should not be limited to military exercises only but should also be exercised in striking down America’s drones so that a strong message is sent to the US, India and Israel that they should not consider us weak.”

Azm-e-Nau-III exercise has showcased Pakistan’s capability to counter India’s Cold Start doctrine: Ausaf
Lauding the Pakistani military for the successful conclusion of Azm-e-Nau Som military exercise, the Ausaf Urdu Daily writes that the Pakistan Army and Air Force have presented an excellent demonstration of “fire power” and have showcased their capability to counter India’s Cold Start doctrine. During the exercise, Pakistani forces destroyed a drone using indigenously developed technology, which indicates that Pakistan is capable of destroying drones, writes the Daily.
The Daily opines that “the exercise has not only enhanced peoples’ confidence in Pakistani forces but also has sent a message that our enemies should not think that we are weak and lack defence equipments. Our defence force is capable of giving a befitting reply to our enemies and is self-reliant in terms of defence equipments and technologies.”

Pakistan’s law enforcment agencies should keep an eye on activities of Afghans: Mashriq
Amid the growing incidents of terrorism in and around Peshawar, the Mashriq Urdu Daily in its editorial suggests that Pakistan’s law enforcement agencies should keep an eye on the activities of Afghan immigrants. The Daily also suggests segregation of Afghans from the local population. It says “separate camps” should be established for Afghan immigrants with the help of international community. The paper says peace can be restored by “limiting them to camps” and adds that illegal Afghans should be expelled as soon as possible.
