Chinoy received in his office Mr Julian Leeser, Federal Member of Parliament from Berowra Constituency, New South Wales and Chair of the India-Australia Parliamentary Friendship Group on January 10, 2020. He was accompanied by Mr. Kim Heriot-Daragh, First Secretary, Defence Section from Australian High Commission, Delhi.

IDSA scholars, Dr. Ashok Behuria, Mr. Vishal Chandra, Dr. Udai Bhanu Singh and Dr. Md. Muddassir Quamar were also present.

Director General, IDSA, Amb. Sujan R. Chinoy received in his office senior officials from SMBC, Tokyo, to discuss the geostrategic and geo-economic outlook for the Indo-Pacific with special focus on India- Japan cooperation in Africa and the Middle East, on January 07, 2020.

Senior experts from the National Institute for Defense Studies (NIDS), Tokyo, Japan, visited IDSA on Tuesday, 24th December 2019 to discuss key foreign policy trends and regional security issues.

Afghan delegation led by Gen. Md. Afzal Loudin, Senior Military Adviser to the President of Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, interacted with Director General, IDSA, Amb. Sujan R. Chinoy and IDSA scholars on December 23, 2019

A six-member delegation from Poland's Centre for Eastern Studies (OSW), led by Director Adam Eberhardt, interacted with the IDSA scholars on December 06, 2019. The issues discussed were China-USA rivalry and implications for India and the EU; Russian-Chinese relations in the context of Indian and EU foreign policy, and situation in the Greater Middle East (MENA), including Central Asia, Iran, Pakistan etc.

A delegation from the Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Indonesia, led by Col. Dr. Samsul Bahari, Director of America, Europe, Africa Relations Dept., Directorate General of Defence Strategy, Ministry of Defence of the Republic of Indonesia, called on Director General, IDSA, Amb. Sujan R. Chinoy in his office. Thereafter, the delegation interacted with the IDSA scholars to discuss Countering America's Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA), in a meeting organised by the Southeast Asia and Oceania Centre on November 26, 2019.

A 3-member delegation from the Institute of Defence Strategy, Hanoi, headed by Director, Strategic Studies Division, Col Le Viet Cuong, interacted with the IDSA scholars and discussed strategic issues covering the Indo-Pacific Strategy/initiatives of the US and other major powers, India’s concept of the Indo-Pacific, the South China Sea issue, and the role of ASEAN in Indo-Pacific region, on November 15, 2019.

The other members of the delegation included Sr Col. Nguyen Vu, Col. Ton That Binh, Col. Pham Van Khac, Lt Col. Nguyen Huu Tuyen and Lt Pham Tuan Dung.

A 16-member delegation from the Joint Staff College of Japan, led by Capt. Katsuya Yamamoto, visited IDSA on November 14, 2019, for an interaction on issues of mutual interests, including regional security environment, maritime security, terrorism, and cyber security.

A Mongolian delegation, comprising Ambassador to India, H.E. Mr G. Ganbold and former Director-General for Policy Planning, MoFA, Mongolia, Dr. Tsedendamba Batbayar met Director General, IDSA, Amb. Sujan R. Chinoy to discuss bilateral, regional and international issues on October 31, 2019.
