The article analyses Iran-IAEA contentions and their implications for the strategic stability of India’s neighbourhood.

The article which is in continuation to the series ‘Forgotten Tales of Valour and Courage‘, also covers General Thimayya’s role in Liberation of Kashmir and the honour he brought to India in Korea by his impartial and professional conduct.

Though the news of China and Iran entering into US$400 billion agreement and Iran going ahead with Chabahar-Zahedan railway project are unrelated, the timing was uncanny and left many wondering whether China and Iran are entering a new phase of ‘strategic’ partnership at the expense of India, writes Dr. Quamar.

The article argues that Japan's search for security will continue to draw its analogy from Abe's decade-old Quad doctrine even after he leaves office in 2021. How the post-Abe leadership translates the framework of ‘democratic diamond’ to a cohesive security platform that Japan has been searching for under its Quad to Quad plus process remains to be seen.

The article notes that while mention of India is minimal in Japan's 2020 Defense White Paper, it is considerable in substance.
