Nawa-e Waqt, editorial, March 10 ,2010
“Chinese Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi said that China has not changed its stand on Kashmir and Arunachal Pradesh. China wants an immediate solution to these issues,” writes Nawa-e- Waqt in its editorial. The daily quotes Yang as saying that China is ready to play its role in resolving all disputed issues between India and Pakistan.
In this context, the editorial opines that “China is our trusted friend and is a natural ally in the region which has stood with us in all tested times.” The paper writes that “because of the region’s strategic importance China and Pakistan are each other’s natural ally and based on these realities, Pakistan should not rely on any one other than China. If we have to counter India’s expansionist zeal, we should go for Sino-Pakistan defence cooperation.”
Lavishing praise on Yang’s remarks, the daily says that “ the remarks by Chinese foreign Minister at this juncture is enough to convey the message to those who cast an evil eye on Pakistan that they should not think Pakistan is aloof and should not go for any kind of aggression against it.”
The daily suggests that Pakistan should review its foreign Policy and adds that “China has never left us alone and is also standing with us at this critical moment. Therefore, our leaders should break their ties with the US and should align with China to defeat the ‘satanic trilateral US-Israel-India relationship and their heinous conspiracies.”
In conclusion, the daily says that “we should understand that our enemy’s enemy is our friend, as those who do not understand this, fall into the trap of ‘enemies in the guise of friends’ and destroy themselves.”

Ausaf, editorial, March 13, 2010
Speculating on the reasons behind the series of bomb blasts in Lahore in which 50 people were killed and 130 wounded, the Ausaf daily in its editorial says that “those who do not want to see growing relations between Pakistan and Afghanistan are involved from behind the scene in the blast.” The paper says that India is wary of the fact that if Pakistan’s relations with Afghanistan become better, its strategy to destroy Pakistan will fail. The paper opines that “until we develop a joint strategy against terrorism we cannot succeed against terrorism.” The daily suggests that “after the Lahore blasts, all clergies, politicians, thinkers and journalists should unite to evolve a strategy to deal with terrorism.”

Azkar, editorial, March 13, 2010
The Azkar Urdu daily views the Lahore blasts in a different way. Commenting on the Lahore serial blast incident, the daily says that “the current wave of terrorism is aimed at generating fear among the people.” The Lahore blasts “indicate that the terrorists’ network is wide and very coordinated” and by executing blasts in Lahore they have tried to send a message that they can attack anywhere they want to attack, says the editorial. The paper notes that the Lahore attacks have “opened a new front and a new challenge for the government and Pakistani security forces. It is yet to be seen how law enforcement agencies tackle this new challenge.”
